The Blue & Gold Banquet is one of the year's most important events as second year Webelos complete the Cub Scout program and receive their "Arrow of Light" award. Some of the boys will cross over into a Boy Scout Troop at this point! We celebrate this event with a pot-luck banquet in their honor. Dens are responsible for various food groups. Pack 310 provides cake and drinks. The banquet is held at our Lady of Grace Catholic Church Hall in La Coste. The
Pinewood Derby is one of the most popular events in Cub Scouting.
Every year, boys and parents team up to carve, decorate, weigh,
adjust, fret over, and finally race a Pinewood Derby car. The
purpose of the Pinewood Derby is to help the Cub Scout build
a team relationship with their parent or helper, experience the
sense of accomplishment and the excitement of competition, learn
good sportsmanship, and to have fun. Pack 310's Pinewood Derby
is held annually. Cub Scout Fun Night & Graduation The Picnic is held in May at the Regional Park in Castroville. It gives the scouts a chance to socialize and celebrate their advancement to the next den level. The
Chicken BBQ fundraiser is held in October at Koenig Park in Castroville.
Volunteers cook and serve plates with chicken, beans, coleslaw
and bread. Proceeds from this fundraiser support
the majority of the pack's activities for the year. Prizes are
given to the scouts and dens selling the most tickets. Trails End popcorn is sold by Cub Scouts all over the United States as an annual fundraiser. The funds help finance scout activities and awards. In addition to individual sales, the scouts hold "show and sell" booths. This is usually done in front of Super S Supermarket and Blockbuster Video in Castroville. The product is ordered in advance and available to purchase at that time. Summer Camp is held in San Antonio at McGimsey Scout Park. |
